· Reciente firma de convenio entre CAZALAC y la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.

Water resources in arid and semi-arid zones are – as never before -  facing dramatic pressures related to distribution and management, affecting local populations and their development chances and the ecosystems associated to these territories. Latin America and the Caribbean are not exempt from this situation.

In this context, the Water Center for Arid and Semi-Arid Zones in Latin America and the Caribbean (CAZALAC), makes its services available to the Region countries in several action fronts related to a sustainable water management in territories where water resources are scarce.

Our  principal objective is to attain a reinforcement of technical, social and educational development of institutions in the Region, based on improved water management and use in arid and semi-arid zones in Latin America and the Caribbean and, in addition, to reinforce the role of communities in developing a water culture, becoming a catalyzing and coordinating organization on several activities, projects and programs regarding these issues.

We invite  all those who want to collaborate an share their experiences with us; professionals, experts and institutions on different disciplines linked to water management in arid zones, to forward their contributions, information and comments, so that your concerns can be managed most appropriately.

Likewise, we encourage you to continue making your best efforts in the activities you develop regarding arid zones, with our sincere greetings from CAZALAC’s headquarters.
