Coordination meeting of the MWAR-LAC project

Montevideo, February 3-4, 2014


The annual coordination meeting of the Project “Managing Water Resources in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions of LAC (MWAR-LAC)” was held on 3-4 February 2014 in Montevideo, Uruguay.

During the annual meeting, the progresses of ongoing activities and upcoming follow-up activities of the MWAR-LAC project were presented and discussed. Additionally, key partners that are active in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean were invited to discuss project activities and to identify possible linkages with other regional activities on climate change adaptation strategies. Contributions were made by representatives of UNESCO-IHP, the Flanders-UNESCO Science Trust Fund (FUST, Flanders, Belgium), the Water Centre for Latin America (CAZALAC, Chile), Ghent University (Belgium), the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Peru), the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Bolivia), the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI, USA), the International Center for Integrated Water Resources Management (ICIWaRM, USA), the Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL, Chile), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, the Joint Research Centre (Italy) and the University of Arizona (USA).
