Second capacity building on the drought observatory

A second technical course on the application of the Chilean Drought Observatory was organized during 10-11th of Octobre 2013.

The goal of this course was to capacitate the participants to create, edit and manage a maproom. Among the participants, there where representatives from the Agricultural Emergency and Climate Risk Management Unit (UNEA), the Water Authority (DGA), the Meteorological Service (DMC), the Agricultural Research Institute (INIA), the Fruiticulture Federation (FDF), the National Irrigation Commission (CNR) and the Center for Advanced Studies in Arid Zones (CEAZA).

  • Understanding the structure and organization of a maproom
  • How to build a maproom from scratch
  • Creating and editing maproom sections: adding maps, adding data description,...
  • Creating new datasets and variables in the Data Library
