Development of National Drought Atlases for the Caribbean CountriesGeneral ObjectiveThe overall objective of the workshop is to train the participants in the application of the Regional Frequency Analysis using L-moments, to contribute to the development of applications of the procedure in the analysis of extreme hydro-climatic events and the development of the Caribbean Drought Atlas. Specific ObjectivesSpecifically, the workshop contributes to: a) capacity building of early-career professionals on the application of the Regional Frequency Analysis using L-moments for applications in hydrology and drought vulnerability analysis; b) training on the available open source software options (R-scripts and REFRAN-CV; c) increase the number of specialists in the region that are trained in the methodology; and d) generate a set of preliminary drought frequency maps for participation countries of the Caribbean (and selected Latin America countries).
