On february 2014 took place the opening ceremony of the reverse osmosis system implemented by CAZALAC in Humboldt Penguin Reserve, managed by the National Forestry Corporation - CONAF.
This project funded by the Regional Government of Coquimbo through FIC funds, and flamenco Company Watergroep system, provides drinking water for visitors and staff CONAF present on the islandthrough a process of reverse osmosis with non-conventional renewable energy.
The project proposes a technological innovation for Chilean possible through replicated in other areas of the country, under similar conditions: Requirements of water for human consumption Islands and / or place and no access to conventional sources of electricity.
